My Story: From Pixels to Passions
Designer, Explorer, Creator.
Welcome to my world, a place where creativity flows as freely as the eclectic tunes on my playlists. I’m not just a designer by profession; I’m a community builder by nature, a storyteller at heart, and an explorer in spirit. Whether organizing meetups, crafting digital collages, or wandering through urban landscapes, each experience adds a unique brushstroke to my canvas of life.
Join me in this journey beyond pixels and palettes, where every community interaction, every melody, and every artistic discovery shapes the designer I am today. Let’s explore the vibrant intersections of art, technology, and human connections.
Meetup Organizer
Bay Area Epilepsy Meetup
As the organizer of the Bay Area Epilepsy Meetup for over five years, I’ve had the privilege of bringing together a community of over 150 members touched by epilepsy. This group isn’t just about sharing experiences or exchanging tips on living with epilepsy – it’s a sanctuary for fun, friendship, and mutual support. Our monthly Zoom meetings offer a platform for socialization, where laughter and camaraderie are just as important as discussing our journeys with epilepsy. With a group rating over 4.5 stars, it’s heartwarming to see the positive impact we’ve made in each other’s lives.
Fabric: Draw Paint Sculpt Concept Art Vis Dev
I’ve been an active member of the Bay Creative Meetup, a vibrant gathering of people from all walks of the design world, for over six years. From graphic to UX/UI, from beginners to seasoned professionals, this group is a melting pot of creativity and ambition. Our workshops offer a dynamic space for members to work on personal projects, assist others, and even explore entrepreneurial ventures. What makes our meetups truly special is the collaboration across disciplines — we regularly join forces with artist and engineer groups, sparking innovative ideas and potential partnerships. It’s a testament to the power of creative collaboration and the boundless opportunities it brings.
Artistic Alchemy: Blending the Past with the Digital Present
In the realm of my personal art, I embark on a visual exploration that parallels my love for musical discoveries. I dive into the rich archives of the past, unearthing vintage treasures from sites like archive.org, and breathe new life into them with a modern digital twist. My canvas is a collage of high-resolution visuals, each piece meticulously chosen and transformed using Adobe’s powerful suite.
These digital collages are more than just art; they’re a fusion of history and contemporary creativity, where hand-drawn sketches occasionally intermingle with digital elements. You can witness this unique blend on my Instagram, where each post is a testament to my love for visual exploration and my commitment to forging a distinctive style.
Personal Branding
The creation of my logo and brand was an introspective journey, blending my personal and professional identities. It started with sketches and evolved through brainstorming sessions and numerous drafts, each refining the story I wanted to tell. The result is a logo where the tree signifies growth, community, and my affinity for natural art, while the digital roots below symbolize my deep technical skills and love for the digital world. Between the two is a clean line, terminated by vector point squares, hinting at precision and my attention to detail.
The typography accompanying my logo narrates my story further, with my name in custom serif letters exuding organic elegance, and ‘.bio’ in sans-serif font signifying clarity and precision. This logo is my emblem, a beacon of my identity as an artsy geek who draws inspiration from both the urban sprawl and the tranquility of nature, ever eager to forge connections, seek inspiration, and cultivate friendships on this colorful journey.
Urban Trails and Artistic Tales: Exploring the Bay Area's Streets
On my urban hikes across the diverse neighborhoods of the Bay Area, each step is a journey through a living, breathing canvas. These explorations are not just for exercise; they’re a quest for creative inspiration, a chance to witness the ever-changing landscapes of urban life.
While not every hike leads to a camera click, many do, especially when I encounter the vibrant street art. These murals are more than mere decorations; they’re stories painted in bold colors, reflections of the community’s heart and soul. My photography of these artworks is a way to capture and share these fleeting moments of urban beauty.
Through these hikes, I’ve learned to see the extraordinary in the everyday – a unique architectural detail, the play of shadows in an alley, or the way art emerges in unexpected places. It’s a reminder that inspiration is all around us, in every corner of our city’s diverse neighborhoods.
